It’s Monday again. HA wait, no its Tuesday. I worked from home yesterday because Thomas is sick again. Also, because it snowed a ton and trying to clean off a car and load a sick baby and then commute the two hours downtown on an unplowed expressway sounds horrendous. So it just feels like a Monday.
Yesterday, I took Thomas to the Kohl’s Children’s Museum in Glenview. I had planned on writing a whole cutesy blog post about our experience but then I realized that nobody really cares about my “review” of the different Children Museum exhibits (even the people that are supporting this adventure). Instead, I decided that it would be more fun (ha) to talk about the anxiety that consumes my life and why actually going somewhere on the weekend with a toddler was such a big deal.
Thomas saw his first SNOW TODAY! It was for an entire 35 seconds because we had no gloves (shoved some socks on his hands) and then we all piled into the car to go to Home Goods where we bought a whole bunch of stuff we did not need. BUT HE SAW IT & HE LIKED IT. I definitely need to be more prepared for the next snow so that he can get out there and play without freezing to death.
Also, we are in the front yard because I haven’t picked up any dog poop in the backyard this winter. I am disgusting.
PS. Uggs are not good in snow. But you already knew that. Continue reading “First Snow”
Happy (are we actually happy about this?) Monday! Is it the weekend yet? I have a really bad habit of wishing my days away. Always counting down to the weekend, the vacation, the next year…
Four days into 2019 and time to set some goals!
After thinking long and hard about what I wanted to accomplish for 2019, I realized that most of my goals have more to do with self acceptance than self improvement. Obviously we always want to be improving ourselves daily, but for me I think the focus this year is going to be about being happy with myself “improved” or not.
So not many people know (or maybe everyone knows… I don’t know anymore haha!) but Micheal and I got married in March 2015! I never shared any of the photos from the ceremony, (there are only about ten in existence taken by the cutest little old man who works at the courthouse) but they make me so happy!
Micheal and I got married February 18, 2017!
Well, technically we were married in March of 2015 (we had a small civil ceremony by ourselves) but we decided to have a big celebration with all of our friends and family in February.
I wanted to test out our wedding photographer before the big day so we set up an Engagement photo session at the Lincoln Park Zoo lights! It was FREEZING! Micheal was a real trooper on this one — he is definitely not the kind of guy who is excited about a photo shoot. THANK YOU MICHEAL! We got a couple of good ones but spent most of our time shivering and trying to dodge large crowds of people. Next time we will have gloves and hot chocolates for sure!
